Lindsay Lohan plays a woman with permanent good fortune, while Chris Pine is a man with chronically bad luck. They kiss at a masked ball, and suddenly their situations swap. Oh no! Now Lindsay Lohan must find Chris Pine and kiss him again, to get her good luck back. The film is supposed to be just another rom-com, so no one really addresses the fact that apparently there is real magic in this world. Everyone sort of takes it as a given that luck is a spiritual essence which can be exchanged upon kissing. Not worth questioning. Instead, the audience is encouraged to focus on the inexplicable presence of McFly, who sporadically pop up and play a song, presumably to make the movie a bit longer.
